Why Nutritional Supplementation is critical for your health

Does your diet consist of these types of “food”?  If so, you may be filling your belly but starving your cells and body of vital nutrients.

junk food

Even healthy foods like fruits and vegetables are not as nutritious and vitamin-rich as they used to be. Today’s modern farming techniques rely on chemicals to increase production which depletes the soil of essential vitamins and minerals. Supplements can help make up for these short falls in nutrients.

Already taking supplements?  Check the labels.  Many supplements sold in drug stores and “big box” or discount stores contain more fillers than nutrients.  If you don’t recognize or you can’t pronounce the ingredients on the label chances are you’re not getting what you think you are getting.

At the Whole Life Health Center we research all of our supplements to make sure you are getting the highest quality nutrients.   We recommend Standard Process supplements because they are organic, whole food supplements along with other high-quality specialized supplements.

How to find out which supplements would best meet your unique health needs

There is such a dizzying array of vitamins and supplements in specialty and big box stores that it’s really hard to know which ones are going to be of benefit to you.  If you are taking supplements or vitamins you don’t need, they are a waste of money.

Also, if you don’t really know what is in those supplements or the quantities that you need to take, you may be taking nutrients that are of no value.  Another caution in taking vitamins or supplements that you buy “off the shelf” is that they may be counteracting medications or other vitamin/supplements that you are taking.

Dr. Alexander has many years of experience in providing nutritional guidance to his patients.  He can help you know which vitamins and supplements will do the most good for your health.  There are two ways to find out exactly what nutritional supplements your body really needs and get a customized nutritional plan.

  1. Schedule an In-Office Nutritional Evaluation
Dr. Alexander has completed over 150 hours of nutritional training.  Using a detailed Symptom Survey that you fill out, a detailed review and consultation along with muscle testing he will narrow in on your nutritional deficiencies and make recommendations for a schedule of supplements to get you feeling in top shape.
  2. Do a Science Based Nutrition (SBN) Blood Analysis Test
The SBN Blood Analysis is a comprehensive blood chemistry panel that looks for nutritional strengths and weaknesses.  You will receive a comprehensive report that shows the results of the blood analysis as well as lifestyle and dietary recommendations including which supplements will best help you meet your health goals.
